Photojournal #001
April and May 2026 in the Amodo office
For most of my childhood, I had my sights set on being a photographer. Unsurprisingly, running Amodo, I’ve not spent much time working on my photography, but last month I picked up an old film camera and started taking photos again. It’ll take a little time to re-learn the skills, but I’m excited to try and tell stories of life at Amodo through photography.
Film: Kodak UltraMax 400 Camera: Canon EOS 10 + 50mm f1.4
This photo has become my go-to side opener. It was taken through one of the magnifying glasses that are strapped to the electronics benches. It was a quick throwaway shot, but I love the colour and distortion.
These are two of my favourites, the first of Toby making a speaker during personal projects club, the second of Sangtera (an MIT Lincoln Labs spinout) visiting our office in Sheffield:
On Sam’s birthday, after the pub, we returned to the office to play some birthday TT. I tried to get a 90s look with the bright flash, and on the right, a zoom during the exposure.

There are only so many ways to show people at screens. The first of these images shows Charlie at work with one of ARIA’s Creators, Patrick Stowell. These are the kinds of pictures I want to start taking to tell stories of ARIA projects.

These two shots of our animal stunning test rig give off a nice 20th-century science vibe

Amodo logos everywhere.

Work around the office:

A reasonable number of the photos I shot ended up soft, this was a mixture of old autofocus and shooting too many things at f1.4
There are already another two rolls of film being developed; as ever, I’m on tenterhooks to see how they come out.
